25yrs ago outstanding, 15-20yrs ago excellent. last 2-3 yrs mediocre. always was med/expensive. service is still excellent. if you are a non-smoker might have problem, as the bar customers "smoke", unless law change effected same. i haven't eaten there in last 6 mo. when food was better i ate there 1-2 weekly.

Food Poisoning

Posted by mitzi74 on 4/29/2008

I had a very bad case of food poisoning after eating at Rapscallion. I ordered the scallops, and didn't notice that they weren't fully cooked until my friend asked for a bite. I will never eat here again.

This is a very fine resataurant. The extensive menu, attention to detail and presentation of meals is fantastic. The atmosphere is quaint, relaxing and cozy. The chef is great, innovative sauces to test any pallate. You can order anything on the menu and rest asuured it will be to your satisfaction.

My parent's favorite

My parents have been Rapscallion fans for a really long time. They go regularly and love to order a wide variety of their seafood appetizers and share them like a buffet. The service is very high-brow and fancy. The restaurant has white table cloths and the waiters wear white jackets. They have a wonderful Sunday Brunch, too. It's really good. Go when you want to celebrate or spend some extra money.

Extremely Fine Dining

Rapscallion has one of the nicest menus in town, I think. Their delicious escargots, seafood and steaks are just to flip for. And don't even get me started on their fabuloso Sunday Brunch. Every time someone calls and says, "Hey baby! Lets go to Rappy's for a hawt Sunday Brunch!" I can't help but let out a squeal. They have incredible eggs benedict, delicious muffins and fresh fruit and MIMOSAS! It's all wonderful! It's pricy, but wonderful. I highly recommend it for that once-in-awhile splurge. Or regularly, if you're loaded!
